International Federation for Information Processing - IFIP is the leading multinational, apolitical organization in information and communications technologies and sciences. It is a non-governmental, non-profit umbrella organization for national societies working in the field of information processing.
IFIP is recognized by the United Nations and other world bodies.

IFIP sponsors about 100 conferences per year. The IFIP Digital Library contains an index and abstracts for IFIP publications, most of which are proceedings from IFIP conferences. Publications from the past will be added when they can be converted to a digital format. The full text of each publication for which IFIP holds distribution rights also is included in the Digital Library. Links are provided to the full text of publications for which IFIP does not hold distribution rights, such as the print publications of IFIP's publisher.

Except for documents in the IFIP Society Publications section, this digital library contains only publications of IFIP. A conference proceedings or other document may be included in the IFIP Digital Library only if it is sponsored and approved by IFIP. Procedures for obtaining approval for an IFIP event and for producing publications for inclusion in the IFIP Digital Library are provided on the IFIP website.

The IFIP publications in this digital library are categorized as follows:

Advances in Information and Communication Technology (AICT)
AICT contains the regular research-oriented IFIP publications from the IFIP publisher (currently Springer International).  These are mostly the proceedings of scientific conferences and workshops, but there are three special sub-categories (subseries) of AICT.

• AICT Festschrift – A special issue of AICT honoring individual researchers and their scientific work, or in commemoration of a special event, institution, or field.

• AICT Survey – A collection of articles about a particular sub-discipline or area of ICT, such as an emerging ICT sub-discipline or research area.

• AICT Tutorial – A collection of chapters or articles that are intended to educate its readers about a current scientific topic in ICT.

IFIP Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and IFIP Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) – These are mostly proceedings of IFIP scientific conferences that are accepted for publication by a special editorial board of the Springer LNCS or LNBIP series.

IFIP eCollection – These are proceedings of IFIP scientific conferences that are not published by the IFIP publisher.  Issue numbers beginning with 1 are from the beginning of establishment of the eCollection series.  Issue numbers beginning with 9001 are from before establishment of the series.

IFIP ePublication – These are IFIP publications that do not fall into one of the other categories.  Some of the ePublication issues are digitized copies of IFIP publications that are out of print and had no original electronic copy.  Others may be white papers or proceedings that are not reviewed as research publications.

IFIP Society Publications – These are publications of IFIP member societies. IFIP has no responsibility for, or involvement in, these publications. IFIP offers the opportunity for a member society to include its publications in the IFIP Society Publications section of the IFIP DL as a member society benefit, and the publications in this section are solely the responsibility of the indicated IFIP member society.
